Organisations, companies, advocacy groups and individuals can sponsor a shipment of bikes through Bikes4Ukraine. We have the bikes available in Europe - we need to finance the shipments.

Our work is as simple as it is complex. We source used bikes here in Europe. Either through municipalities or Police departments - and arrange transporting them to Ukraine. Then we deliver them to our network of NGOs in Ukraine.

We would love to be able to receive shipments of used bikes from outside Europe but the logistics is daunting and the timeline is long.

HOWEVER: you can sponsor a shipment of bikes and here is how we can work together.

Raise Funds Locally

Your organisation, company or group can run a local crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with Bikes4Ukraine. You can put out a Call to Action on your social media or newsletter to engage your network.

You can either set up a crowdfunder or receive direct donations and then send the funds to our non-profit either by donating through OUR crowdfunding platform or direct wire transfer to our Danish bank.

We are a small team in Copenhagen and Ukraine so we can help with visual material - Mikael can make a call-to-action film or be interviewed for your crowdfunder and we can supply you with photos and logos - but you would have to fundraise yourself. It will require some effort, of course, but the pay-off for helping Ukrainians is worth it. Trust us - we’ve been doing this since July 2022. It’s amazing.

How Much Should You Fundraise?

A shipment of 150-200 used bikes costs, on average, €5000 ($5000 USD / $6500 CAD) from Western Europe to Ukraine, so that is the minimum requirement for sponsoring a shipment.

Anything over that amount will be integrated into the general running of the project and ensure that more bikes get to Ukraine.

If you manage to fundraise, let’s say, €10,000, we can discuss a second shipment in the same style of the first. If you fundraise €8000, then the remaining amount will still go to our work in getting more bikes to Ukraine.

Your Name on the Bikes

After a successful crowdfunding and transfer of funds, we will print a frame sticker that we’ll put on each of the bikes that features the name of your organisation. A text that you decide but that will read something like “A gift from YOUR ORGANISATION” and any other short message you like. We learned on our first bike shipment trip to Ukraine that the locals really appreciate knowing who sent them the gift of bicycles.

Follow the Journey

We will document the journey of the bikes to the people who need them in Ukraine. We’ll take photos of the bikes being loaded for shipment and we’ll take photos and films when we arrive at the drop-off point so the people who donated the money for the shipment can see the people who will receive them.

We can also make a page on this website for your specific fundraising where photos and films can be uploaded so your followers can see them. We can use your logo and text on such a page.
